Curved Doorway Block

Creating a Round Archway

You can easily create a round archway yourself with these curved blocks for door and window openings. With these blocks, you can easily round off existing and new archways. This quickly gives the space a luxurious look with round and organic shapes.

How to Make a Doorway Round

The curved, or rounded, blocks for the doorway are easy to install. Before you start, it's important to check if the block fits. Sometimes the opening may not be perfectly square, or the block may not fit properly for another reason. Once you've checked this, apply Stone and Block Adhesive PU to the block. Then, place the block in the desired position and hold it in place. Use a temporary support, such as a wooden slat, to keep the block in the correct position. This prevents the block from shifting or coming loose if the adhesive has not fully cured. Now it's time to let the adhesive cure, which takes approximately 24 hours. Finally, finish the opening with the desired topcoat, often plasterwork followed by a layer of paint.

Supplies:

• Two curved doorway blocks
• Stone and Block Adhesive
• 2 wooden slats

Instructions for Making a Door and Window Opening Round:

1. Check if the block fits well in the corner and adjust as needed. This can be done by sanding the block or the opening with, for example, a sanding board.
2. Apply Stone and Block Adhesive PU and spread it over the block.
3. Place the block in the desired position.
4. Support the block with a wooden slat.
5. Allow the adhesive to fully cure.
6. Remove any excess adhesive and finish the entire opening with, for example, plasterwork.
